Hey, I'm new to map editing and stuff and I've come accross a major problem when compiling with Hammer.

When I click "Run" and enter all the information (everything set to normal) the compile process window just says this:

Code:
** Executing...
** Command: Change Directory
** Parameters: E:\Steam\steamapps\<my_username>\half-life 2 deathmatch

** Executing...
** Command: Copy File
** Parameters: "E:\Steam\steamapps\<my_username>\half-life 2 deathmatch\Custom maps\Test map.map" "E:\Steam\steamapps\<my_username>\half-life 2 deathmatch\Custom maps\Test map.map"

I've waited hours but it just kept saying that...is something meant to happen? It just saves it as a .map file and in the folder there are a few other files like "Test map.rmf" "Test map.rmx" and "Test map.max".

How do I compile and play my level as a .bsp file?! Thanks :)

Umm, I don't think so. Can you point me to a tutorial that tells me how to do that? I think that's the problem.

Better yet, use a stand-alone compiler. I think the compiler that hammer has is slow. And you cant map while you compile. And my computer freezes up in the process. So, Get either Nem's batch tool or VBCT ( I like VBCT more ). Google, and thou shall find.
