Hammer - help needed

I have a few problems in hammer that I can't quite figure out. If you could help, that'd be great.

1 -

a) The windows are 0 pixels thick, and i can't figure out how to have breakable [func_breakable_surf] thick 'security glass'-type windows.

b) Using func_breakable_surf I can't figure out how to change the amount of damage required to 'break' the glass. Health has no effect on it at any value, and fragility is a different thing.

3 - Is there a way to make a monitor that's tied to a camera, breakable? With func_breakable_surf? [I.e if shot up enough, it will eventually just turn black and then break up like a glass window]

4 - Is there a way to have a texture on an object darker somehow, without editing the texture itself? I don't want an external light, I just want the texture to be less bright.
