Hammer: Out Of Memory

Hey all,

Before you flame me, I have searched the forums, the steampowered forums, and the steampowered support area, and nothing tells me how to fix, or even describes my error.

A few days ago, I was running hammer fine, editing my map. I saved, quit, went to bed, and my computer remained on. When I woke up, I wanted to start working on my map again, but when I went to load up hammer, I was forced to wait at least 5 minutes for it while it loaded. Then, once I thought it was finished, I got this:

Now, what is really odd about this, is that not only do I have 1 gig of DDR 333 MHz RAM, but if you look at this other screenshot, you see that hammer is using 3 meg of RAM

and in the third screenshot, you see that I have 700 MB of RAM available:

Now, this all just seems really weird to me, because it happened without reason ( one of steams main selling points "Random Error Generator" )

I would REALLY like to reinstall hammer, without having to redownload the entire source SDK ( 56 K ). Can anyone help at all. Either a fix for this error, or a way to reinstall hammer, or drugs to make me forget I have this error ? lol

I think restarting the pc should do it, its solved the problem for me before.

I've restarted about 249 times since I got the error. But seriously, yeh, I have tried restarting. That was actually the first thing I tried.

Raeven0 - How do I "Refresh SDK content" and "Reset Game Configurations" ?

Just note, that I can't do anything from inside Hammer.

Open the Source SDK menu. "Refresh SDK Content" and "Reset Game Configurations" are two of your tools.

You don't keep the Source SDK and Play Games menus open when you're mapping, do you?

No, never. Even before I heard that they feck up hammer. I just dont like them open cause they clutter my screen. I like a clutter free workspace on my monitor .

I think valve need to put this fix on their steampowered support area, cause I just couldnt find anything about it at all.
