Hammer won't create bsp's

I have been able to use hammer to create maps before and it was fine, but i started using it again today and whenever i go for a compile(originally for the second time, now for the 1st too) it won't overwrite any old bsp of the same name and will report a file not found error if it doesn't exist :/

Here comes the first obvious question... What has changed in your settings since the last time that you successfully compiled a map?

I have no idea. but the problem seems to have been solved by resetting all the details in the SDK. Thanks anyway
