Well Hammersmith is an arena in London, I'm not sure what Hammersmith pants are though.

The song is called (White Man) In Hammersmith Pants...

Yus, it's good. However I have no idea what Hammersmith pants are....they might be just some obscure forgotten snippet of 70s punk culture.

Hammer as opposed to Hammersmith; I should have bolded the "Hammer."

Maybe they're just a style of jeans, and for some reason they use the american term 'pants'?

But i dunno

Yeah, I bought the American version (explains why they didn't use the term "trousers" in the song title) over the UK version. American version had a few more songs than the UK one, and the UK one didn't have Whiteriot.

I doubt that they're an item of clothing. Pants probably has something to do with a riot, or a revolution, and it's in Hammersmith.

Dunno though.

Oh, and were you guys [Brittish] having some sort of economical or political issue in the 70's? Because listening to this CD and thinking back on the Sex Pistols' whole anarchy movement really makes me wonder...

*gets greatly confused*

Over what?

If you mean me purchasing the American version of the CD, it's because there are two versions that should both be readily available at most CD outlets. An American version, and a UK version.

EDIT: Maybe Hammersmith Pants = slang for "police"?

It’s White Man In Hammersmith Palais

Palais:
A mainly British word meaning, "a public hall for dancing."

Just looked back at my CD and realized that you're right, I completely missed the last word :p

Anyway, is that some sort of reference to a riot?
