r_3dsky 0 Cuts the tops of the trees off and gets rid of some other polys, I gained 10 fps doing this.

r_ragdoll_collide 1 Ragdoll models will collide with eachother (V1p3r)

r_c4dynamiclight 1 Makes the c4 light light up the surrounding area (V1p3r)

If you guys know any handy or otherwise cool console commands, please post them here.

r_ragdoll_collide 1 (self explanitory)

r_c4dynamiclight 1 (makes the c4 light light up the surrounding area)

They might be a bit different, i cant remember exactly.

I saw that one console command is "Buddah".... I have no idea what that does though.

It is a god mode where your health bar goes down, but stops once it hits 1hp

r_c4dynamiclight1 should be CL_c4dynamiclight 1

Edit: Same goes for ragdoll...

I would update it to show the cl_ rather than r_ , but I can no longer edit the first post :/

r_skin (0 - 5) - changes the colour of some crates, both cars and all barrels.

phys_pushscale X can affect the power bullets and frag grenades push physics models. If X < 0, your bullets pull objects instead of push them. If X = 0, objects are not affected, and if X > 0, bullets will move objects away from you. (Note: X is by default 1).

I have heard that mat_bumpmap 0 can improve your FPS as well

EDIT: Also note that phys_pushscale only works if you are the host =)

As stated in another thread, but for simplicities' sake I will post it here as well, you can add -dxlevel 81 to a shortcut that links to CS:S to get a large FPS boost (if you are currently using DX9) and if you are already at 8.1, or just want a huge FPS boost, type -dxlevel 70 instead. To see your FPS and ping, you can type net_graph 3 in the game's console.

What are some good rates in css? cl_rate rate cl_cmdrate cl_updaterate

rate 20000
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101

The only one you should ever be changing from these values is cl_updaterate to account for lag in different servers.

Thanks but what about cl_rate? leave it at 9999? or change it to 20000 also?

cl_crosshairusealpha 0 - Non see-thru, shows up better

cl_radaralpha 255 & cl_radartype 1 - Easier to read against bright backgrounds
