Hanging objects?

Does anyone know how to make hanging objects? Ive managed to make ropes, and hanging objects using oullyconstraints but I have not managed to make it look like it hangs in the rope!

I'm just guessing here, but did you make the cable the hanging object's parent? An object will move with it's parent....

I did, but the cable just ended up being connected to the origin of the map instead...

Apperently it's a bug in CS:S parent things doesn't work properly or something
