For three weeks, 14-year-old Hayley Stark has been chatting on-line with 'Lensmaster319', a 32-year old fashion photographer, named Jeff. The two agree to meet at a coffee shop called Nighthawks. They hit it off, despite the massive age difference. Hayley appears to flirt with Jeff, and Jeff generally restrains himself, even admitting that he must wait 4-years until he can be with her. But his reservations are apparently not enough to decline when Hayley all but invites herself over to his house. Once at the house, manipulation becomes the name of the game, and the pedophile seems to be on the non-traditional side of it.

It's not porn I swear (well it might be). Has anyone here seen this movie? I thought it was pretty fantastic so I picked up the DVD today.

Not out here yet. On DVD. I'm looking forward to seeing it though. I know the model on the poster though. :E

I really didn't like the girl. Because of the subject matter, there wasn't much they could do to actually make the photographer seem like a bad guy. You know, build him up as an evil guy.

In your normal type of movie, they do this by showing the villain killing women/children, bombing people, being a bastard etc... but obviously they can't show someone having sex with a minor, or in fact, any objective evidence at all.

Instead, theres this psychotic girl, who IMO, through her actions, is much easier to hate by the end of the film.

I rather disliked her character from the beginning though.

That's what alot of this movie is about though. Turning the tables on who you'd expect to be the villian (though not saying she actually is). I like how, they at points, make you go back and forth between that as it isn't as predicitable the whole way through. I think they did enough to let the audience know he wasn't all peachy, and he did meddle in some really awful things.

The one thing that bothered me was that some of the dialogue in the movie, to me at least, is pretty poor.

Saw this last night, thought it was an interesting film, but one in which not a lot actually happens and there are parts that really drag, so it wasn't as good overall as i was expecting it to be.

Just saw it last night. I thought it was good. Nothing crazy tho.

I thought it was pretty good, apart from that scene D:

Watched it last night as well. I liked it, wasn't what I was expecting.

Why did everyone end up seeing it last night. Was there some hl2.net get-together I didn't know about?

Actually, there is a porn called Hard Candy. I accidentally downloaded it. It wasn;t even a good porn though.

Anyway, I enjoyed the actual movie. I thought the atmosphere was sufficiently creepy and the two leads worked well together.

But what's up with having the longest castration scene ever in a movie?

So... is the girl the actual bad person of the film, then? I was watching the trailers some, oh, 5 months ago or so and the first thing I thought was ''Heh, this trailer doesn't cover the 'plot twist' very well at all..''

Looks alright.

Yes, it sounded pornoish so that's why I said maybe.

Would you like to have a short castration? **** that, drag it out as long as you need to buddy. I don't want my balls willfully ripped off, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.

There really isn't a good vs. bad vibe going on in this movie. They both handle themselves the wrong way about alot of things.

Edit: Bah, sorry for the double post.

SPOILER

You guys do know he wasn't actually castrated right? She just made him think he had been

Yeah, but you dont find that out until later, so its pretty horrible while it happens.

Just saw it recently

9/10 - Very creative and thrilling suspenseful flick. Highly recommended!

SPOILERS: THOUGHTS ON FILM

The movie really messes wtih your mind and lets you think the guy was innocent. It raised so many questions regarding rape, molestation, and pedophiles. Was she right to do that? Yeah if your talking about justice to his victims. Yet still you have so much sympathy and pity for his character that you think maybe it will help him see the error of his ways. They set it up well by talking about his "innocent" childhood memory that leads him to do what he does. And in the end all he did was watch the murder, so it was all a mistake. Either way in my opinion, the mind is sick in its own way. We think of so many possibilities of pleasure that excites us. It is ridiculous. He was innocent, but full of so much shame and regret. She was the force of society and declared truth, pounding so hard on him to suffer and break. The unnecessary and blind justice that thinks its doing the "right" thing. Life is what it is, no right or wrong. Eventually at the conclusion of the film, we get really no resolution. Something that cannot be answered. Both of them neither good or bad.

Even though the guy may have been guilty as sin I still wanted to see that girl die a slow and painful death lol, I was pissed when she just walked away. does that make me an evil person? :)

Am I the only one who thought that she had the right idea, and the ****er got what he deserved?
