I have had my new computer together for a few days but i think there might be something wrong with 1 of my hdd's. Im having problems with the Western digital 80gb SE...

Certain things happen like extremely slow file browsing, my other hdd has no problem alike... also some of my games i install "magicaly" uninstall themselves....the other day i had d/l the bf1942 secert weapons demo and this morning when i booted up my pc it was gone....just an empty folder that says "bf1942 secert weapons demo" also like 2 days after i have had my pc it started bootng up REALLY slow. Its an awesome pc, and it was booting up fine the first few days. Now when i get to the desktop it takes like 50 seconds for everything to get good before i can do things like internet, games, etc...it use to boot up fast as hell.

Also some things i had installed on that drive arnt working proprely. RTCW: enemy territory started running VERY VERY slow today. I tried restarting but still same problem. It takes like 2 min for the game to start up, then even after that its going so slow its impossible to even get to the main menu. Also one of my programs where i had my cd images started working improperly. I couldnt operate that program with out stupid ass errors. Also, i cant delete folders from my computer in that drive, it sometimes says an error like "Cannot delete folder is not empty" or i also get "Drive D is not formatted would you like to format now?" yet it was working fine the first day or 2.

I havnt tried installing enemy territory on my maxtor hdd but i will try...anyone know if this is a hdd problem and what to do?

Ok, im pretty sure this is a hdd problem... i just re-installed enemy territory on my maxtor hdd and it works great...just like it should. Yet it was totaly ****ed on the other hdd. I used the same installer btw.

Still though, any one have any suggestions?

Cant really help, but sounds like its surely a HD problem. Reformat maybe? Make sure everything is plugged in correctly too. And im sure you havnt been OCing right?

nah, i havnt been over clocking. The weird things is that it worked fine for the first 2 days.....

****....this things just deleted 2 more of my games!!!!

ah ha! Turns out i just had a bad block in the hard drive. Found at least....2,000 errors in system log that happen like every 10 seconds i have my pc on. Running the fix should fix this..
