Hardware Porn

I don't even want to know how much that costs. You can build a PC with equal or better performance for far less money than that behemoth.

30GHZ!!!!!!!!!
video bottleneck anyone?

also prebuilds suck when you can build a better one for much cheaper.

Have you not learned anything from life? Better doesn't matter unless it's followed by "looking".

If you have wads of cash to throw around, sure, why not. But it's sort of like buying a hummer, it says something about your personality.

I heard it was $6,500 for the High-end version and $2,500 for the lower end one. And the AMD processor is 3.0ghz, not 30...

Does anybody else know that it has a toolless case, built in wrenches, bolts, and other tools to make upgrading easy, hard drives are slide-in on rails, and the fact that with a cushion it could make a makeshift computer chair?

Am I the only one who doesn't instinctively think/say/post/do "I could build something 2x good for 1/2 the price" anytime a company introduces a computer?

The case is awesome. It looks practical and tidy.

Lookit, a video.

We say "I can build something just as good for half the price" because that's the reality of the PC hardware business.

lol; I could build something 90% the performance of that computer for $1500. Oh wait, I just did! lol

the case seems awesome, wonder if u can buy it separate lol

Yup, for $2500!

Awesome case, but for that kind of money they can suck my balls.

I was merely pointing out that it's saying 30 ghz.
Where does/did it say 30GHz?

Spec page says 3.0
"Configurations

* Athlon? AMD X2 6000+ 3.0GHz
o 1MB of L2 cache per processor"

So what, it costs a hell of a lot of money. I'd rather save cash and build my own pc than go bankrupt and not have to screw in a few bolts and nuts.

If you think that fancy tool-less design justifies the price, then great, I certainly don't and neither do a lot of the hardware savvy people.

I got a case which is pretty sweet; has insane cooling(200mm & 3x 120mm included), awesome internal layout, good looks, easy install/uninstall of hardware, tool-less, up to 9 5.25" drive bays (interchangeable with HD bays), quality construction, etc, etc, etc. It cost me $130, free shipping, then it's $100 after I get my mail-in-rebate. It's $140 regular, but still worth that price (I was going to buy it at that price). LINK That's about 5% (1/20) the pricetag of this case.

For the $2500 pricetag, we could probably water-cool every component in the case using the most expensive hardware (2x Watercooling systems, 1xCPU plate, 2x GPU plates, 2x harddrives plates, 4x DDR2 plates, DVD burner plate, and . . . whatever else we can fit in there for the hell of it.....) and still have well over half that money remaining.

Let us remember that high priced boutique items like these are for people with the money or the (stupid if they go into debt) will to spend just to have a really cool thing. It's like down here where I live a wealthy family has a Lambo but another local has a souped up Corvette he's spent a lot of his time and money into, I've seen them raced at a local drag and the Vette came out on top.

But the Lamborghini's still cool and it does catch praise or I guess just jealous stares a lot more than that Corvette ever will.

So in summing it up, go kidnap and ransom small children if you want this PC but don't have the money, just don't buy it all on credit.

Exactly. "tool-less" cases have been around for years. I know for a bit Chenbro (used to supply Alienware with their cases for a time period, still might) had tool-less server cases. And unless you're completely uncoordinated or don't know what a screwdriver is in the first place, I don't see any hardship in having to tighten a few screws.

My next case will be tool less have inbuilt water cooling (inbuilt i.e. massive incorporated radiator. Many cases with such cooling system use a much smaller radiator and the water has not had a chance to cool down before leaving), look fancy and only cost around $300 AUD. The foot stand on their behemoth really puts me off too.

It's still the coolest case i've seen by a mile. If it were sensibly priced I would have ordered by now.
