Has anybody managed to copy the preloaded files??

I can't copy my preloaded files to another computer. Has anybody managed to do this???
Maybe my dvd burner is damaged, but everything seems to be fine. Except that steam refuses to accept my files. Everytime the amount acquired switches from 100% to 0%.

i copied mine onto another comp and reinstalled windows, it sort of worked, in that i can play half life 2 but the main characters appear to have no script and just wonder around aimlessly

Yup, I have HL2 and CS:S all on 6 CD's right now and they all worked for transfering to my comp at University.

Yeah i saved all my gcf files required for HL2 plus my profile folder to a DVD, and loaded it to another computer...one thing to note do not replace the Platform.gcf when it asks you to......big headache
