Haven't been here in a long time. I was having serious problems with HL2, the stuttering bug then valve released a new patch that made the problem worse and completey shot my framerates. So I uninstalled and was like **** it. I'm jsut wondering if they've fixed the problem yet, the game has been out for a long while now. :stare:

Just for your information, you didn't have to re-install HL2 to get rid of the patch, all you had to do was type "mat_forcehardwareintotexture 0". And yeah, I too am waiting a fix for this, because for some reason now that I upgraded my graphics card I have the stuttering.

Anyone hear anything about upgrading xp sp1 to sp2 fixing the stuttering problem? Also what about uncompressing the sound files? I've heard rumors that that may help...

Nope, still have stutter here. going to return the game to sierra tomorrow for full refund.
