have a dell dimension 4700

i've got a dell dimension 4700, and i've looked at their prices on RAM... do i HAVE to buy through dell, or can I buy through crucual or newegg online?

nope you dont have to buy with dell; it would be heavily overpriced and most likely crap ram. so i do recommend buying it from somewhere else. just make sure you get the correct type of ram. like pc2100,pc3200,etc. should tell you the ram specifications on the dell site.

edit: one more thing is that i forgot to mention is. that im not sure if that would void your warranty or not if someone else could confirm?

I'm almost positive Dell has some arbitrary stipulation that if you open the case, you void the PC's warranty.
