I'm not talking about on Facebook or related sites. I'm talking about forums or imageboards, or even social news sites. I found this one a few weeks ago on an imageboard, and just confirmed it with my friend yesterday. I went to high school with both of them, and the one on the right is one of my good friend's sisters:

Haha. Never found anyone in a picture, but there was an internal (but rather large and anonymous) file-sharing network set up on my campus when I first got there. I'd met this one dude in my classes, we had no prior knowledge of what each others' screennames were, and one day he mentioned, "Hey someone put up this Sigur Ros video, you should check it out." Turns out I was the actually the person he'd grabbed the file from.

I've also been having a lot of random real-life encounters with friends/family of people I knew back in Texas, despite moving all the way to Pennsylvania.

I have seen a people of walmart.com person I've seen in town before. you can't miss his car because he decks it out with whatever seasonal holiday it is. he'll dress up with easter eggs on his hat/coat, 4th of july flags all over him and his car, christmas trees, you name it

Saw a friend of mine whilst browsing last.fm, does that count?

Slightly related: saw some guy I went to highschool with on TV as a contestant in a show called "Beauty & the Nerd" - some shitty reality show - as one of the nerds. Guy has always been a snobbish prick who wasn't actually all that smart.

Same. There was a car driven around town when I lived in Louisiana that has most of the panels replaced with makeshift wooden ones, and all sorts of household accessories crudely screwed onto the frame, like desk fans and lamps. It showed up one day on the peopleofwalmart site and I laughed.

Ah, just reminded me -- I saw someone on Jeopardy (college kids episode), and someone on Wheel of Fortune. But due to Facebook it wasn't really a surprise.
