Having a little problem with HL2.

Hey guys, new to half life. Picked up half life 2 when i purchased my pc.


I installed everything and got to play for a little while. Turned off my pc and went to play it again in a few days and steam comes up. and it says "Half life 2 100% ready" I double click it and it says "preparing to launch half life 2"

Then the screen goes black....then back to desktop. It won't do anything. I tried a fresh install and it still does the same thing. Have no clue whats going on. Any help would be great appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried reinstalling steam.

I seem to remember sometimes people had to delete a certain steam file for some reason. Maybe that will jog someone elses memory. Can't be anymore help sorry. Don't do anything yet though.
