But I'm not getting a response. So here's my question again. Maybe 1 of you would know what to do.

Ok. It goes like this.
I have a;
AMD 64 Athlon 3000+ (2.0GHz), nVidia Geforce FX 5700LE, 758MB of RAM, Windows XP Home (with SP2).
(this computer was Custom-Built from my Computer Repair Guy, and has no name)

I had a nVidia GeForce FX 5200 Video Card. I tried to play 18 Wheels of Steel: Pedal to the Metal, and it wouldn't run.
So I tried to upgrade the drivers. I got the 77.72 Drivers. Everything seemed ok.

Then I wanted to play Half-Life 2, but it said that my card is not a DirectX 7.0 Card.
I asked around, and they told me to get these 71.89 drivers for it.
I did, and overwrited the new ones.

EVER since then, I've been having Hardware Glitches here and there, with ALL of my games. What I mean by gliches, is things that suddenly appear and go away, and the screen going grey and just non-normal stuff.

I called my Computer Repair guy and he told me that, that card "isn't compatiable" with SP2, so I got my 5700LE, and it was no better. SAME glitches.

So, I tried to COMPLETLY uninstall the drivers, and get the 71.89 drivers back. THAT didn't help! :(

So I'm out of ideas. I've tried everything I could think of. Even tried to mess with the settings. Even that didn't help. So I desperatly need professional help with this. Should I reformat? What should I do? :(

Please assist.

So, can youall help me out here? ;(

Have you tried rolling back the drivers? If not:
Right-click my computer and choose properties,
select hardware tab and click on device manager,
under Display adapters select your video card and right-click and choose properties,
select the driver tab and click Roll back driver.

If that doesn't work do a search for driver cleaner and follow the instructions very closely.

do you think that downgrading your drivers might work, well lower than 77.72?

or getting a new graphics card that is known for its compatablity with your mother board

or you can go back to the 77.72 and never play HL2 again (well on your computer)

Ok, I don't have the 77.72 drivers anymore. I have the 71.89 drivers.

I specifically said, and I
I asked around, and they told me to get these 71.89 drivers for it.

Your case might be to hot. Make sure your fans are clean (no dust) and buy another fan.

When you rolled back to the 71.89's, did you just overwrite the other set (as you posted) or did you do a complete uninstall of the older set and then a complete reinstall of the new set?

The first time, I overwrited over the 77.72 drivers.
The attempt to fix it, I uninstalled the drivers, then got the 71.89 drivers.

And I have 3 fans. 2 in the back, and 1 in the front.
