Having some technical issues...

The game was running fine on my computer.

But now, out of nowhere, the characters have... stopped moving.

The enemies as well as the allies just stand, stock still. I can kill the enemies and can't interact with the NPC's that i'm supposed to, to move on.

It started on the level where you've got the Scout car and you reach the Lighthouse with the Rebel-folks.

Now, even if I backtrack to previous levels, it's doing it on all of them.

This happen to anyone else?

Well your ai was disabled, so Ai_Disable simply toggles the AI's state and turned it back on.

I'm at the level where you're fending off Combine Soldiers coming out of 4 blocked off paths. You're in Nova Prospekt.

You have to wait for Alyx to come after the soldiers are done and I guess she disables the forcefields and allows you to move on.

But after having to jumpstart the AI at the begining of the level (Ai_Disable) and actually having to fire a round past the forcefield in the direction of the enemies for ONE of them to come after me. I stacked up some boxes, got aboce the forcefield and got behind it.

I find all the enemies there, intact. Working.

But they just don't go the right path and come to get me. I dispatch them and manage to dispath the others on the other side.

And I go back behind the force field. I see Alyx standing there. Her head's moving and she IS in fact active. But she just won't come forward to the point where she's supposed to meet me. She just.. stands there. ( I tried ai_disable and it doesn't work. Her AI's on. She just isn't going where she needs to be.)

Ugh... Any advice?

I don't recall any point in the game where I was supposed to climb over a forcefield, you may have screwed up the scripting somehow.

It's not required. But I'm able to do it.

It's part of the Entanglement level. Where you have 3 turrets to set up and there are 4 barred doors that are closed. But then Alyx conacts you, tell you soldiers are everywhere and coming at you. The doors open and a Forcefuield activates over each door. Above one of the doors is an opening where if you stack up boxes, you can hop over and get to the other side.

The only reason I hopped over to the other side to begin with is because the soldiers weren't coming at me.

The game still works and I gave Alyx 20 minutes to come and she never did. So tHAT'S when I hopped over again to find her just standing there...

I'm not accusing you of anything, but if it's a warez version the AI will not work properly.

Illegal. Pirated. The Pirated version going around the net has some very specific problems that make it obvious to those that know, that it is the illegal version. People are always posting in here "help! _____isn't working." Then we know it's the illegal version.

You could try and make it easy for all of us: You can finish that game on "GOD" mode, massacre all combine to the end of the game. They are all on strike against you weak pirates, or you could go to your parents get your allowance in advance or get a part-time job at your local Wendy/MacDonalds, go out there and be decent enough to buy a legit HL2. It won't cost you much only $39.99 and cheaper.

Hurry up because Aftermath is about to be released.

Episode 1 rather...I like Aftermath better. Whats with this episodes? Sound like a Sitcom, for Christ sakes.
