HAZE demo out on PSN...

Has anyone else played it yet? I had to get it with my EU PSN account though. I don't think it is out anywhere else until Thursday.

I played through it this morning before work and I must say that it is better than I thought it would be (and I am by no means a fan of FPS games on consoles). I am eager to get into some different environments to try out the more experimental gameplay though. The demo level is a little linear and does not allow much free-roaming, but is fast and furious and fairly good looking, but I am a sucker for jungle environments. The nectar usage is pretty cool and I am actually interested to see the story turn around so that you begin fighting the Mantel Corp. with the rebels instead of killing the rebels while on Nectar. A very interesting idea that might actually hold my attention in this day and age of boring as hell marines vs aliens, etc.

Time will tell and I will probably not buy it without seeing a few reviews first, but this demo makes me think much more likely to buy it than not now. Previously I did not even think it would be a consideration.

Yeah I liked it too. Graphically it doesn't look too amazing (nothing compared to the very first images) but the solid framerate adds up to that.

Have you tried the online co-op yet? It's so easy to just pick a server and jump right into it, didn't notice any lag either. Still I'd prefer to play with people I know as the ones I met yesterday were a bunch of douchebags shooting each other in the backs so you'd get a Nectar overdose. -_-

I agree that the steady framerate more than makes up for the not-quite-as-gorgeous-as-the-first-screenshots-released graphics, but I have not tried multiplayer. I was palying this morning though and it said that someone had joined. I assume that was some other PSN user, but I could not confirm where that peson was. Hopefully the other multiplayer modes will make up for the idiocy one can encounter in co-op. I can't wait to play with friends on this and in Resistance 2 (with 8-person co-op)!!

Maybe I'll try downloading the demo on Thurs. When I initially read about the game I wasn't too impressed and/or excited about it. I've kind of been itching for an FPS for my new PS3 though, so maybe it's worth a shot. Didn't know it had co-op... always a plus.

I watched some direct-feed footage of the demo and I wasn't too impressed. I'll keep an eye on this game though, at least until reviews come out, since it's made by Free Radical.

Playing it is usually a better gauge. Why not download and try?

What's this malarky with EU / US accounts? Can you make a US account if you're in Europe and vice versa? It would explain how a shop near me with an imported Rock Band can download songs for it.

While you are at it, make a Japanese account too. There is a lot of stuff they have over there that they don't have in the US store or EU store.
