HD 2900 Pro/DVI Cable/Monitor=FAIL!?

I just can't get it to work.
I have to connect a VGA to DVI adapter to my video card and the VGA to my monitor. But yet when I use a DVI cable it doesn't display anything. Any ideas??

The monitor is probaly set to taking VGA input, look at the monitors buttons for one that changes what the monitor uses for its input (my one says "Input/Swap"), if it's not a button it might be in the monitor's menu options somewhere.

I got it working. But only when Windows is finally loaded for some reason.
So when I restart I don't get video output till the computer has finished starting up.
Odd..
