Still looking for a small HD Monitor about 17-22", otherwise it would be to big for my desk.

Want it to watch HD movies, TV and stuff on the internet in HD but also, does HD improve all quality? Or just that in HD format? Also, is there any PC games that are HD yet? I see trailers and videos for HL2 in HD but shouldn't the game be in HD to make HD videos for it?

Thanks and if anyone can reccomend me some small HD monitors would be cool.

Well, making a pc game HD is just a matter of resolution. I think =/

So, it really depends on your graphics card in that matter (if I'm right)

Urgh, so it could mean needing a HD GPU aswell? Or just a GPU that can support the same resoloutions HD uses?

LOL. You making things to complicated. Alot of graphics cards can meet insane resolutions anyway.

Uber high resolutions ;)

Really? So, I don't get it, whats so good about a HD monitor?

its just that now their upping the resolution of broadcasts you need a screen that will display a higher resolution.

a lot of people who dont want to buy a HD TV for their xbox360s are using a vga cable and their pc monitor for HD resolutions that are the same quality as an HD TV would be

Oh I see, so the term "HD TV" is a TV that can have a higher resoloution than normal ones to support the high resoloution footage?

Cool, so I just need a good monitor. Anyone know of any for around £200 that support high res' and refresh rates?

I'd look for a monitor along the lines of what I have.

The Sony G500 21" CRT displays up to 2048x1536 at 75hz. I play most games in 2048x1536 and it just looks incredible.

It's not technically HD since the pixels don't interlace but the resolution is higher than most anything out there and the hertz are high too.....

Retails for $1500 but I bought mine for $100 bux on Ebay, and saved another $50 by picking it up.

My friend just bought the same one and he loves it as well. Can't go wrong.

Wow, you play games at that resolution? :O

HD is simply video with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and a 16:9 aspect ratio. This is compared to SD TV which uses a resolution of 640x480. Since it has more pixels to display detail it will look better.

Nearly ever PC game that has come out (since almost forever) can be displayed in HD resolution. If you are playing a game with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels or higher then you are playing in HD.

In fact many people play PC games at much larger then HD resolutions. A 30" Apple LCD has a resolution of 2560x1600. This works out to about 4.1 million pixels. Compare that to HD with about 900,000 pixels.

As was already recommended, a good CRT with a high resolution can be picked up for cheap and it will easily display HD footage and games (just make sure your PC can handle the resolution).

I can't find anyone in the UK that sells good CRT monitors new ? :(

Theres loads of TFTs but none go to high resoloutions that I want.

Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24"

:E

Pretty high resolution, top quality, Pricey however !!

What kind of resolution are you looking to play at, and what graphics card do you have ?
