Toshiba are doing an awesome deal with their next gen of HDDVD players. You get 2 movies bundled with the player (apparently these are 300 and The Bourne Supremacy) and you can then send off for a further 5 (7 I believe in the states) with voucher which is valid from now untill next year. The choice is:

2 from either Corpse Bride, Prestige, Troy, Swordfish, FullMetal Jacket.

2 from Hulk, Serenity, Chronicles of Riddick, Fast & Furious 2, Children of Men.

1 from World Trade Center, Dreamgirls, Black Rain.

The new models are the EP30 & 35 and both support 1080p/24 (if you care about that) and both upscale standard dvds up to 1080p. So, you could get an EP30 and 7 movies for 220 quid - which is total bargain.

Spread the love, buy HDDVDs!

I'll wait. I'm in no rush. :|

I'm probably gonna get the Blade Runner: The Final Cut in HDDVD. Then play it on my monitor in 1680x1280 because it has the HDMI port in the back. I was going to pick Blu-ray but I found out HDDVD can play DVD too. So this is a plus too lol. Oh and I'm seeing the new version this Saturday in New York City. About a 3 hour drive from MA to NY and I will probably see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island quickly on Sunday.

My Blu-ray player plays dvds, do you mean a pc drive?

A decent upscaling dvd player usually costs a 100 quid or so these days. When you factor that it plays HDDVDs and comes with 7 movies (!) then this is superb value for money.

I'm totally with you in regards to Blade Runner btw. Gonna save it for Christmas day :)
