are there plans, either by valve or a mod team, to add hdr to the maps of the pc version? i thought this was going to be a part of lost coast's download, but i guess not.
also, replaying the pc version after owning the xbox version, i've noticed that in specific places the lighting design (aside from the lack of hdr) is not as refined in my mind as the xbox's. the tunnels along the coast end up too dark, and the shadowing on npc's in these cases is awkward looking too. certain areas are just generally a little too dark.
i guess this is partially a case of limitations resulting in a certain look. the color resolution of my tv as compared to my pc monitor, and the possible 16 bit framebuffer of the xbox version i think lends it a grayer look overall, which i prefer. but considering that valve had an extra year to work on the game, there also seem to be a few better lighting decisions in those areas.
ideally, i'd like the lighting of the xbox version transferred to the pc, but is there any way to emulate this with console settings rather than having to actually mod the game?
