Ah yeah I agree with you now .D€vIL² said:I hope so... If you don't want HDR turn it off.
I don't see why they wouldn't start doing so. HDR FTW!
Well yeah you can change it to different settings (Mine's off). But only with Direct.X. 9DEATHMASTER said:is it even available to click on in CS:S yet?, yeah i know that there are no maps with it yet.
My HDR is on (highest) and I only have DX7 hardware. :upstare:dekstar said:Well yeah you can change it to different settings (Mine's off). But only with Direct.X. 9
I have a Geforce 4200 Ti wich only supports DX8, and i can't use HDR. How did you make it work?Drkpwn3r said:My HDR is on (highest) and I only have DX7 hardware. :upstare:
This cannot be, from the fact that the only "HDR-Supported" cards are 6XXX and 7XXX series...Drkpwn3r said:My HDR is on (highest) and I only have DX7 hardware. :upstare:

BTW, i already told that if you do not have an HDR-Compatible card, you need to TURN IT OFF.
It may cause FPS problems and such.
HitchHiker² said:I see some of ya' dont seems to get the real idea behind the HDR.
English is not my native language
The HDR-Tech is composed of two Hardware component.poseyjmac said:i think you mean the only cards that support open EXR HDR are those series. valves implementation can work on radeon xx00 cards as well.
yea thats what i was thinking, it weird you just get in a dark area for 2 seconds and you get out and eveything is overbrightD€vIL² said:I think HDR would be cool if it was tweaked so that you have to be in the dark for a longer period of time before it becomes bright outside. you know? Instead of just passing through a dark area and all of sudden come out and its bright.
About the X800 series - im not sure, but i think it does not support HDR.Minerel said:I disagree HitchHiker. If there is a method to make HDR work on lets say the X800 series, then yes the X800 can support HDR. It may not support all the ways for HDR, but it does support it. And have you notied that those who don't support ATI's, are based for Nvidia? Hell Splinter Cell 3 at launch only had like 1.1 and 3.0. No 1.4,2.0,2.0b. That was a major hit on ATI cards.
The main diffrence in the shaders is not 2.0b and 3.0 as those are extremely similar it's the Open EXR.
HDR is map specific, not game specific. A correct way to say it would be "HDR is in no other maps but the ones in DOD:S right now"socK said:Any DX9 card will be able to use HDR (except maybe the 5x00 series?) 9500 and up should be able to do it.
HDR IS NOT IN ANY STEAM GAME OTHER THAN DOD:S RIGHT NOW, YOU'RE NOT GOING TO FIND IT IN CS.
THANKS.

You can turn it on, it doesnt mean its really working. (BTW, if you could upload the file to rapidshare i would be greatful, filefront doesnt work well with firefox)socK said:http://files.filefront.com/HDRwmv/;4199653;;/fileinfo.html

If you have a reliable source to see that it works on 9500+, i would be glad.
HitchHiker² said:About the X800 series - im not sure, but i think it does not support HDR.
As i recall REAL HDR need SM3.0.
