Headset not recording :-(

I have a Creative HS600 headset with an XFI Gamer sound card.

The microphone is not being picked up by Windows. I try to record my voice using Sound Recorder but it doesnt pick anything up. I ve tried putting the mic connection in each of the holes in the back of the card (green, blue and pink) and it still doesnt work :-(

Please can someone help me

sorted it... the XFI cards dont have a built in amp and so cant drive a mic... I had to enable my onboard sound and use its mic input... kinda sh1t having a £50 card that cant use a simple mic

Ehm, you have to use an electret microphone in a pc if you select Microphone as your input. If you use a dynamic microphone, you'll need an external amp, and have to select 'line in' for best results.

In simpler words (as I know you have an electret mic), make sure your input is set to 'microphone', not 'line in'.
