So I just picked up my brand new processor. I dropped it in, booted up, turned on HT and all that, and let the HL2 menu run for a few hours. Upon restart, the BIOS measured the CPU at 59°C.
Now, I've got a pretty average heatsink, a 120mm case fan in, and 2 80mm fans out. Can anyone reccommend a way of lowering the temperature a few notches for not so much cash?

Note: It's a 3.0 with a Northwood core, and it's got an 800mhz FSB w/ HT. Find out whatever else you want to know about it here; it's not where I bought it, but it's the same processor. :p

59C is actually pretty common for Pentium 4 CPUs with the stock heatsink/fan although a bit warm.

If you want to lower the temp, I would suggest buying a copper Heatsink/fan. Thermalright, thermaltake, zalmans and a few others make good heatsinks.

P4's rarely increase their temps when under load. So don't worry too much when playing a game or doing processor heavy acitivites.

It is a bit on the high side, but still okay.

Yeah, I've had no heat problems as of yet, so I'm not worried. My problem is that I'd like to jack up the clock rate a bit, and I don't want to kill my CPU.

Asus: any specific reccomendations? I'm kind of strapped for cash currently, considering how much I just dropped on the processor, so what'll give me the most bang for the buck?
