heh I have 2 cpus?

Ok I took the hl2 survey and it scanned my computer and it said that I had 2 cpus, well I kinda knew it before but when visiting steam site to look at what others got on the survey it says that only 0.21% were having 2 cpus and 99.8% having 1 cpu.

Is there anything I can do to make it be 1 cpu?

What the hell? You don't NEED IT TO BE ONE CPU. There's no difference other then performance (Which should INCREASE with 2 processors, and no decrease).

it says it Pentium[R] 3.06 ghz

What I have heard about 2 cpus is that it decreases perfomence in games.

if you have a p4, then you don't have 2 cpus. I guess the survey misstook hyperthreading for 2 cpus or something....


and 2 cpus won't decrease performance in games, it just won't help.

You get 2 cpu's with HT.
only 1 of them is a physical cpu, the other one is "logical". have you opened your chassis and looked ? are there 2 cpu's .. lol ..

HT can cause a decrease in performance but most of the time it doesn't.
Some people disable HT because of instability with certain programs but most likely many just get their PC with it disabled and they don't know what HT is or how to turn it on... hehe

HT looks like 2 CPUs to the OS. Ctrl+Alt+Del and you will see 2 CPU usage graphs unter the Performance tab.
