Heli jump gone bad; someone credited for my "suicide"

Check this movie out. My heli was damaged so I decided to jump out of it, but I aimed it so that it would crash into a guy that was standing on a hill. Unfortunately my parachute somehow didn't open and the heli crashed next to me, killing me before I hit the ground. However my death wasn't considered a suicide by the game, instead a guy that was shooting my BH was credited for the kill, as if he killed me from the BH (he's standing behind the sandbags).

Sorry for the crappy framerate but my comp gets a slowdown when I record with fraps.

That's kinda just how the game's kills system works. Say you're on Karkand on some rooftop. Somebody shoots you once and you're hurt. You run and jump off the roof and he'll probably get the kill. It needs to be shortly after you were hurt but it gives the kill to the person that damaged you last.
 
That only works with vehicles i believe, and its been like that in all battlefield games.
 
It's because you died first, so he is credited with the kill.
 
Shouldn't it say:

his_nick [his_weapon] my_nick

instead of:

his_nick [my_vehicle] my_nick

?

He did damage to my vehicle, which could result in it's crashing, with a carbine, not with the Blackhawk.
 
Well the final blow was with the bh which he was responsible for crashing.
 
The game thought he blew the chopper up, the chopper killed you, so he got credited with the kill, i've done it a few times. I shhot at them and they hit the ground because they can't fly, i get the kill :)
