Concept Art by scott, visit the Hell Blaze site here

cool pics, but the concepts draw too heavily from Silent Hill.
if you had not said it was concept art for a mod in developement I would have immediately assumed it was from silent hill.

not a bad thing, just maybe throw in a lil more originality.. somehow.

err what Im getting at is, it look purdy.

yes, we are aimin for a *kind of* silent hill LOOK, but everything will be our own creations

Heres another peak ;)

Soz bout the tripple post :D, any comments on the above model ?

looks cool, the upper body is nicely defined, only thing bugging me is the location and direction of the weapons, like how they are attached.. seems liek it will be difficult for the character to attack realistically.. i dunno, maybe you are going for some weird animations..

Kon: yeah we are ;), they are goin to be violently shacking and basicly just going mad at you...lol

Very nice concepts, I wish I had such drawing skills.

But I'd have to agree with mr redundant, these are not "kind of a silent hill LOOK". Imho they are silent hill, nothing wrong with that of course.

I've never played Silent Hill. But the concepts I'm seeing and the descriptions of how they'll behave "violently shaking and going mad" just makes me want to play the mod all the more, sounds very creepy and I love that.

For some reason strange creatures or even those that look normal spazzing out just makes me think coooool. Like that scene in Ring2, the girl lowering her head and shaking it to answer no on the other video tape, then it keeps reversing and playing back, shaking more and starting to go crazy before she looks up and starts to get closer to the camera in a really normal yet very threatening way, or those heads on Jacobs Ladder. I just think that stuff is great.

I can't wait for this mod. If it scares the s**t out of me I'll be very happy indeed :)

Hey guys, have you considered asking Richard Michaeux to do some in-game images for your mod? Not texture stuff really, more loading screens, site images, poster things, stuff like that

has that "look" to his work that I think would be perfectly for you fella's judging by your discriptions and what I've seen and the whole creepiness about it. Looking at his work you can almost hear the buzzing of a fly now and again, chains tinging gently against each other, weird screams far off, or deep underground, strange flashes of imagery, patterns, weird symbols

his website can be found here
http://rmichaeux.b4.to/

included a great poster he did, tried linking to it but his site has weird no right click stuff going on. It's worth looking at.

I think his work would work really well for your mod, but thats just my opinion.

Well his site is some bad designing, you need to have 1280X1024 resolution or bigger! funny...

Not to mention it's amost impossible to read some of the text there and geocities window pops up in one IFrame. :P

I've popup stoppers and run at 1280x1024 and didn't have a problem :p

Besides I wasn't there to read his life story, nor do I care about it, I only went to check out his other artwork after he submitted three images to CGFocus for approval on the main gallery, decided his style could look great for this mod so mentioned it in here incase anyone on the team thought the same as i did and included a couple of images, his web design skills are not in question, not everyone can make a decent website. Some of us actually hate building sites you know ;)

so what do you think of his style? Think it could work for this mod or not?

In the CG world that's called 'trend whoring'. Because everyone is doing it and it's desperately easy to do. But you're right the look does seem appropriate for this mod.
