Hello number 10

Didnt they discover a planet in our solar system a few years back and call it nemisis or something?

No, that was a ride they built at Alton Towers. Easy to get confused though.

:p

I really haven't got a clue

Yeah, I think it was called Smilie or sommat. IIRC it wasn't large enough to be classed as a planet.

I say send monkeys to that planet until they evolve into super monkeys whit mental powers and them we can call it the planet of the monkeys

qfe.

This is where half the forum floods in here and proclaims that it's on a collision course with Earth and we're all gonna die. Lol, Planet X my arse. Anyway, i we going to do this everytime we discover a large rock out there, name it a planet? Once we got powerful enough detection systems, our Solar system might get past 20 odd planets, most of which being pointless. In essence of the new discovery though, i proclaim we call it Simonomis - a name that takes into account all the upstanding people in this community named Simon or Simonomis.

Sweet more planets. I'm all for space exploration. But what am I talking about, lets just rip off NASA some more and fund our War on Terrorism!

Something that's 3000 km's across can hardly be called a planet. It's a big piece of rock more likely.

Plutos only 2,274 kilometers...

So I'd say it's safe to assume anything larger than that is a planet :P

Why didnt they give it an awesome name?

They could call it......."Het - "

I mean, SAMON PLANET!

About that....who would one....contact...to...perhaps...offer services...

The Earth is 12000 km across.

Bluto is a great name to call it.

Our Moon (which isn't a planet) has a diameter of 3475 kilometer. So I stand by my statement that a large chunk of rock has been found in stead of a planet. Besides, Pluto has an eliptical orbit, quite different from the other 8 planets in our solar system. It's by no means a 'normal' planet.

Im guessing P3X-562 is the name for Earth in Stargate SG-1??

No no, they should call it the Mongooses, The Fighting Mongooses - That's a cool name.

I hear by name it the ZOMG COOLEST BADASSESED THING EVA...

Planet Spliff!

If I discovered a planet I would name it Shens.

It's actually rather interesting, having a tenth planet... although the hype is somewhat lessened due to the fact that no-one cares :|
