Snowboarding season is closeing in and i have to get all my stuff ready. This year i want to film everything i do for the entire season and make a movie at the end! So i want to buy a helmet camera which you attatch to the helmet and it films everything you see. I have looked around a bit but cant find any! Could anyone please help me find a good one that is durable and not TO expensive! Also i wonder if some cameras only works with some helmets or if they work with all? just to make sure it really is attatchable to my helmet. I can take pics of it later if its needed!

Thanks alot if anyone could help me!

EDIT: Also, is there a way to attatch a camera to the actual snowboard?

duct tape?

as for actual fittings, do have a budget in mind?

I use the DogCam Pro 550 Zoom (http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/Pro_digital_zoom_helmet_cameras.htm) from Dog Cam Sport (http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/)

They've got a whole range to cater for everything from you integrated digital recorder (http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/atc-2000.htm) that records to solid state memory inside the small unit itself all the way up to the broadcast quality used on shows like Top Gear (http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/sony-hq1-550-helmet-camera.htm)

The disadvantage of the latter and the likes is that you need a separate camcorder to record the actual video from the camera but obviously has better quality.

If you do decided to go for one then I HIGHLY recommend getting the LANC remote which allows you to start and stop your camcorder recording without having to go into your bag. I didn't have the first time I went out to Austria snowboarding and had about 5 hours of video of sitting around :)

As for mounts: you've got a couple of choices. Goggle mount, velcro tape or suction cups.

The goggle mount I didn’t like for snowboarding or skiing as it was hard to get centered on your target. Suction cups don’t work that great on my helmet so I went for the velcro tape (which the Universal Mount comes with) - it's solid and survived plenty of crashes. I put the camera right on the top middle of my helmet. Also black duct tape does the job nicely :)

Also, the goggle mount has the disadvantage of always getting your goggles in the shot. I made a video of my sniping at Airsoft (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tcaOXZjI-lk). Although the angle is quite sweet for it - it can be a bit annoying on anything else.

Oh yeah, also get the UV filters. For some reason they don't recomened it with the "snow package" but I found them pretty useful for cutting out a lot of the glare from the snow
