Just a few days ago, I finally downloaded the Opposing Force 2 demo (thanks Riomhare)! Unfortunatley, when I started the actual demo something was wrong. Most of the textures were little purple and black squares. Just about all the props were big red ERRORS. So yeah. If you know anything about all this garbish, lemme know.

Have you experienced this in any other games recently? These weird looking artifacts that you're seeing could be a result of your system overheating. Make sure your GPU/CPU isn't too hot. If they are, make use of a vacuum etc.

This is incorrect. The purple and black squares and large error signs are to show missing texture/model information in the Source engine - nothing to do with GPU issues.
I'd try to first re-download the mod, as it may have installed badly, and then perhaps try verifying your game caches for Half Life 2 and Episode 2/whatever other games it may need.

What KA said. It might require some source games that you do not have installed.

Alright. I'll try re-downloading the mod first and if that doesn't work I'll save up for Half-Life 2 or something.

You don't own HL2 and you're trying to run a source mod?

Bro, check the requirements for the mod on its site or whatever.

Ah, I see I've been misinformed. Thanks for clarifying. I used to have this problem with DoD, and was told to check for overheating.

The reason I don't have Half-Life 2 for PC is because I already have The Orange Box for PS3. I figured it really wouldn't make sense to have two Half-Lives.

Well you're half right. It wouldn't make sense to have Half-Life for the PS3 if you've got a PC that can run it. As we can see here, the modding scene of the PC is an invaluable advantage over console versions.

I do have a gift copy of HL2 on steam that I could send you.

What's the catch? (raises eyebrow)
