help ..cant get maps to work

OK ive put several maps in your_account_name\half-life 2\hl2\maps

Can't get any to run.
Also in C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\ there are several folders, one with my user name and two others called "your_account_name".
ive put the half-life 2\hl2\maps folder in all of them
any ideas? thanks in advance.

do u mean there not showing up in the maps list in the console?

no they don't show up, when i type eg; map hangar , it says map not found etc

well sometimes when i extract maps they kind of go into there own folder and wont show up in the game and when i take them out of the folder they do could that be ur problem
