Help! Can't play CS or HL2!

I did an incredibly stupid thing today. I just got the cs bot update. I was playing, and I decided to pause my game and change my video settings to high while the game was going. Well, my game basically froze while I was online so I turned my pc off. Bad move. Now when I try to log on to steam, it says I can't connect to the steam server to play. It has been doing this since. Please somebody help me. Any advice and help is greatly appreciated.

There's already a topic about this. There seems to be some kind of trouble over at Valve's HQ, a power outage or servers are down or whatever. It's not just you, it's all/most of us - we can't sign in. It's something that you're just gonna have to wait out.
