Help! Can't take screenshots!

Hi anyone!
I've got a little problem here ...
First of all need 2 sry 4 my poor english.
Ok that's the problem: I play hl2 without any problem and all the features are simply perfect but only there's one thing i can't get ... screenshots! ;(
I loaded the game with "-console" option so that i can toggle the console and see what's goin' on. When i take a shot the game performs a little pause (well i supposed it saves the screen) but when i search for files i don't find anything! (don't worry i search perfectly). Console says:
" screenshot (800x600) "mapname.jpg" "size" Kb (Quality 90) compressed 0 byte ".
It seems like it takes the shots and it compresses them to 0 .. or something similar
Anyone should help ?

I have the same problem. I can't take screenshots nor can I see the save snapshots when I load want to load a save.
By any chance are you running in DX7 mode?

try this:
create a new folder called "screenshots" inside the hl2 folder.
For example: \Steam\SteamApps\[email protected]\half-life 2\hl2

I meant to say i can take screenshots, but they just show up as a jpg thats all black. Any clue?

Hey thanks a lot ! Now it works fine The problem was i got the italian version and the game created an "hl2_italian" directory that was empty, except for 2 dir.. "maps" and "screenshots" (supposed to be the dir of my dreams ..).
i created a dir "screenshots" in the dir "hl2" and now it works!

yeah there are problems with screenshots on non-english versions. Valve should have tested this shit....

as for the black jpgs, not sure about that.

ohh nice i just wanted to ask about the screenshot problem but now that i know that non-US versions have this prob i'll go check it out (cuz i have german) ... bye
