help! connection problem...

i just reinstalled windows xp, and downloaded TF2 to my computer again via Steam, and when i get into a game, it lets me play for about 5 minutes before i get kicked and get a message saying "Secure connection failed. A conneciton to the Steam VAC servers could not be made. For troubleshooting network issues, please check the link below." i turned off my firewalls to my computer, what else could be wrong?

(Seriously though, does it happen on every server? I get connection problems on occasion - sometimes they go away, sometimes not).

You probably have the Windows firewall enabled or something, and it's blocking Steam's VAC authentication port(s). That firewall thing from my experience is a total piece of crap. Then again I have a router firewall, so you might not have an alternative.
