HELP Excessive Load Times

I just installed HL2 on my new computer from Steam and the load times take longer on it then my old computer. Is there anyway to fix this? New Computer Pent. M 1.6, 512 ram, Radeon 128mb 9600 Turbo. Old Computer Pent. 4 1.5, 128 ram, Radeon 32mb 7500. Thanks

How long is it taking? I have somewhat long loading times, but it really isn't that bad at all.

Its ok, I figured it out. I defraged my computer and turned down some of my video settings cause I had most of them set above the recommened setting. Now the load times are fine.
