Ok I don't remember much about the game. It's 3d I believe, and it probably came out around 1999-2002. What I remember from it was that it was pure open space, and than you could see planets and move extremely fast with boosters. There where all kinds of missles etc to select from aswell as a hud that showed the ships details at the bottom of the screen I believe. Not sure if this all helps. I really need to find this game.

Freelancer?

Independence War?

Jumpgate? Though that was a mmorpg.

The battlecruiser millennium games?

There's the X series of games... X, X2, X3 The latter of which being more modern.

Then there's ... Freespace 2. Quite an awesome game and still has a large following.

Thank you! It was freespace. I was like 7 or so when I first played it. It was an awesome game but I never knew what to do.

So, who played iWars?

Or Imperium Galactica?

Cos I didn't, but I've been looking for people who had, so I can see whether it's worth going back.

Mmmm... Freespace 2.

There's some really awesome total conversions that don't even need the game to play out for it.

The Babylon Project(a massive 1+ gb game base off of Babylon 5 with tons of missions and stuff.)

Beyond the Red Line, a great Battlestar Galactica game, has a few missions... mostly for multiplayer gaming though.

and Wing Commander Saga, based on the Wing Commander games.

You guys all forget one of the best space games ever(One of the most underrated too), Terminus!

Also, Beyond the Red Line is pretty much permanently on hold Lucid, if you want a truly kickass Battlestar Galactica game, check out "Diaspora", it's made by several ex-BtRL devs, and it's very close to its first public release :)

Anyway, I am honestly disappointed no-one has mentioned Terminus, it's one of my fav space combat simulators of all time, and I have a lot of experience with space combat simulators!

Ah, yeah.
I was trying to remember the name of the new BSG game, thanks.
