Help: Half-Life 2 Crashes to desktop when saving

So i just purchased half-life 2 and right now i'm running the game on my laptop. I went to http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest and it said that i could run half-life 2 no problem.

The game runs very smoothly and i have no problems until i hit an auto save or save the game manually. I don't get an error message it just crashed to the desktop.

So if any of you figured out how i can go about fixing this, that would be great.

My Specs:

Intel CentrinoDuo T2400 1.83 Ghz
Mobile Intel Graphics 945GM Express
1 GB of Ram

Have you validated steam files, and ran a virus scan, spyware scan, adware scan, ect?

I have done all that, I found out a way to disable the auto-save but it blows when i want to save the game but i can't because it crashes. I've looked around the forums and it seems alot of people are having this problem, but i'm surprised that no one found a way to fix this lol. unless there is and i can't seem the find it.
