Help, I am stuck

OK Newbe here.

I am early in the game in a room full of flammable barrels. There is water below me with a tunnel I can't reach because it is too high when I am in the water. There is a air duct near the ceiling I can't reach while standing on a pipe that runs toward it and there is a room next door with an iron gate separating it in half that I can't get through (tunnel on the other side). I killed all the flying bees (for lack of technical term) but have been unable to get out of this room (s).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Flying bees - Manhacks

I know where you are. You can't reach that vent, instead, climb the ladder, walk along the pipe and onto the upper walkway. Take a left and jump down onto the pipes, you should see a large red valve. Use it to flood the other room. Now head back through and down the ladder.
