Help - I Am Stuck!!

OK Newbe here.

I am early in the game in a room full of flammable barrels. There is water below me with a tunnel I can't reach because it is too high when I am in the water. There is a air duct near the ceiling I can't reach while standing on a pipe that runs toward it and there is a room next door with an iron gate separating it in half that I can't get through (tunnel on the other side). I killed all the flying bees (for lack of technical term) but have been unable to get out of this room (s).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

In the room with all the pipes, there is a ladder. Climb down it and you will see a wheel. Turn it, and the water level will rise. You can then get into the other room.

Awsome! I know exactly the valve you are talking about. I messed around with it once. Shot it a bunch of times. when I am standing next to it, how do I turn it?

Press 'e' (Use object) . That's default, though. Check your keyboard options if 'e' doesn't work.
