help!! i'm stuck

i seem to be stuck in the chapter: SANDTRAPS.Towards the end after killing the antlion warrior and the vortigaunt gives u the phreopod,nothing happens.
He just stands there,and dosent' move.I've tried all sorts of stunts but he just stays rooted to the spot-the AI is not disabled
KINDLY HELP

A known problem. Restart the level, or try from an earlier save and see what happens - should fix it. Maybe someone's figured out a more convenient solution by now...?

If you have an illegal copy, however, I don't think you'll be getting any further than this.

Its not an illegal copy, im pretty sure because usually the vort wouldn't even give you the pherophods...

I seem to remember someone else having this problem; they didn't have the right click on the mouse configured so they could not complete all the required tasks in order to move on.
