Alright, first of all...I've scoured www.steampowered.com for at least two days now with no luck. This seems to me to be the only other place that would be a plausible place to look. And no, I'm not going to complain about Steam, or the online authentication. They make sense, yes. What I need is some way to log in. I've looked through everything that I know how. I know I don't have any firewall (apart from windows, which I set the allowances for), I've opened the ports on my router, and even changed the firmware to the last supposedly "good" version. I can access the internet fine and even get the Steam platform updates easily, but every single time I try to log into Steam it hangs like it's thinking, and then tells me it cannot connect. Please forgive my lack of knowledge, and also my lack of will to do any more indepth searches. I've read more than enough flame threads about Steam already. Anyone have any idea at all how to help me. If I forgot to list something, just tell me and I'll get back to it.
Oh yes, I guess I assumed this part. I bought my Half Life 2 at a BestBuy, so I really just want to be able to authenticate it
