Okay this is a real scenario Im faced with, dead lines like tomorrow, and Im stuck.

There are 8 teams, each team has to play each other once, there are 3 matches each week, so 2 teams dont play each week, no team should go 2 weeks with out a game. And each team should only play once a week.

I need to make a time table for that: As in:
Week 1
1v2
3v4
5v6

Week 2
3v6
5v1
2v8

Ive tried everything, and Im doing higher GCSE maths, and voluntered to do the school football leauge arrangements. Now Im over my head and stuck.
The best answer would be all the matches and weeks. But I wouldnt mind just being told how to do it, Ive tried with a grid, and I thought I had it, but then I saw Id made the same team plat twice one lunch time - a No No.

Thanks In advance.

sounds like fun, and if i didn't have a 5 page english essay due in two hours i would love to help. If nobody has solved it before 5, i'd love to help. But i'm sure someone will have :(

Thanks.
I do agree it did sound like fun 2 hours ago.

wait... there should be 8*7/2 =28 matches altogether, so you can't have three every week or there'll be two matches leftover.

What do you mean nevermind???

Is it wrong? I need this!

Carry on with it, I might be able to help, but I'm not sure if it will be in time

Well Jellyworld, Im using youre figures and handing it in tomorrow. Its a real life thing so if it turns out to be wrong half-way through, it would be a disastor.
