This is driving me nuts. I don't know what initially brought this into my mind, but I have to remember the name of this game I used to play as a kid a long time ago.

Back in the 90's some time, there was this(PC/Windows I think) movie making game where you could plop some characters and items down in scenes, and you could create your own movies. I remember there being some silly character models and stuff, but beyond that I cannot remember much of anything.

I have to figure it out though, because it's driving me CRAZY. The nostalgia I'm going to get from it if I find it again is going to be insane.

Sounds like 3D Movie Maker to me. Ahh the memories.

HOLY SHIT YES!

That's ****ing it!

You win my eternal gratitude Operational. I ****ing love you, man! This is one reason why I love hl2.net... they can remember/help you find out anything regarding old games!

Man, I have so many memories from that game.

Man, this game looks so aged. Hahaha.

Haha, no problem. I might see if my friend still has the CD, it would be crazy to play around in it again (and at a decent framerate too :)).

lol you're not the only fan. i spent many hours in it when I was a kid.

I was actually kind of depressed all that time ago, because the computer I had couldn't run it very well... and it took forever to do anything. I think I was running it on a laptop at the time. But I still enjoyed it!

I have to try it again!

This movie making game was really good. Part sim/tycoon game and part movie making. You can simply alter a .txt file and give yourself all of the goodies if you simply wanted to make movies and nothing else.

Yeah, I was checking that out. Wasn't sure what it was all about.

The actual game part is decent, a mediocre tycoon game IMO overall. The part that interested me the most however is the movie making part. I found it surprisingly deep, although I admittedly didn't expect much from the start. I like to write and I used it as a way to storyboard my ideas.

There are a bunch of sets (sci-fi spaceship, diner, indoors, outside, etc.), each having a bunch of sandboxy type scenes you can choose from. Each scene has a number of wooden dolls which behave in a preset way and can be turned on and off depending on how many people you want in the scene. You drop characters that you design in the character designer over top of the wooden dolls to put them in the scene. You can put all sorts of props and stuff wherever you want. You can add voice if you want, although I never did.

It sounds kind of gay when I explain it, but if you're into movie making you might like it. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

Thanks, I may do that if I pick it up.

3D MOVIE MAKER WAS ****ING AMAZING I HAVE SOME OF THE BEST CHILDHOOD MEMORIES WITH ME AND MY FRIENDS MAKING DUMB SHIT WITH THAT.

I made so many creepy/weird movies with it, I still have the game actually. I remember a lot of weird sound files you could chose from- "Each Totem on the pole is a symbolic representation of each family"

Remember I would flatten red balls in order to make puddles of blood. I remember the fat character all to well. I would make him explode into dozens of tiny little fat men. Good times. Wish I still had those movies saved.
