ok im got it like a week ago and i realllllllyyyyy suck :p can anyone give me any tips or something to help me get better? i dont want to hack like the people who kill me but i really want to improve my game <--- is a complete n00b btw xD

Sure, Be mindful of the way you shoot, you usually need to fire in short burst when ranged long and semi, only when your at short close up distance you should just spray (hold the trigger) when u get good enough you can spray at semi long effectively.

In the beginning of a round run with the pistol in your hands so that youll get to the front faster.

Set it so you can get to your pistol quickly if your main weapon run out.

Theres many others but heres just a few off the top of my head. :)

Listen to SELAS - he's a very good player.

Another thing to do is play against expert bots, but try binding a button to host_timescale 0.5 ('bind a "host_timescale 0.5"') in console, and another to host_timescale 1 ('bind b "host_timescale 1"') in console. Then when you're running around and see a bot, press A to slow time down, and aim for a perfect head-shot.
Do this for a while and eventually you'll get the feel for exactly when you can shoot with weapons, when they're innacurate and when you shouldn't spray. You'll improve with weapons in the normal time-scale by a lot.

-Note: Those commands only work in a listen server wtih sv_cheats 1 set.

Another way is to learn the timings of when people come round corners when you're both rushing, by again playing with bots (sv_cheats 1 on too) and using mat_wireframe 1 (in console) to anticipate better when they're going to appear and at what height is perfect for a headshot.

Beerdude been having too much fun with ... Well, Id say beer. He posted it in the wrong thread, but his tips does have merit:

Turn away from flashbangs.

Smokes grenades = win.
If you're held up by a nubbish AWPer, just tell your team to throw their smoke grenades and then flank the sniper.

Learn how to handle HE grenades.

Learn how to headshot with single shots from afar with a rifle.

That's about it :p

The smoke one is probably not for FFA though...

Thanks Dekstar :)

When you join a game for the first time in a day. Move your crosshair around a bit to get your hand more comfortable with the mouse.

Make sure you hang back at first, and pick off any enemies with little hp. Then try being more offensive and flash and smoke them. Make sure to use a silencer if at all possible.

Also a good tip, is to find a friend who plays CS:s. Get them to make a server and have a 1 v 1, you can learn to be more stealthy, stratgetic and more effecient in what you buy from spawn.

And make sure you keep calm all the time, if you play bad, take a break, do something else like watching tv or listening to music.

:)

Keep the sound way up, no music or distraction. Be very mindful of if you're making footsteps or not - crouching or walking makes no noise, while normal (running) movement makes loud footstep sounds that can tell experienced players exactly where you are.

Learn to flick your aim directly at an opponent's head. Fire in short bursts of three or so bullets, rather than spraying on fully-automatic (unless the enemy is close to you). Grenades of all types are your friends; NEVER leave spawn without a nade or two, unless you really don't have the money for it.

Learn all of the guns and levels - the behaviors and advantages of each gun and the best combinations, and all of the spots on each level where people might camp, etc.

Pistols are there for a reason. Make it a reflex to pull your pistol out the moment you run out of ammo for your primary weapon; don't jump around trying to reload, this gives the other player ample time to shoot or even knife you.

Shame that when you switch from awp to usp, it's absolutely piss slow.

ok here are some random tips I've learned over the years:

-always keep your crosshairs at head level (for those quick headshots).

-despite what other people might say, never run with your knife out, run with your pistol instead (they have the same speed).

-also, the scout is the fastest weapon of them all (faster than pistols).

-think the way you think your enemy thinks (still with me here? :E) and then counter. ie if your playing againts an average player who likes to camp, try to flank him. But if your playing against an experianced player who would expect you to flank him, fake a flank and rush instead.

-If you find yourself face-to-face with an enemy, either a) crouch and immediatly spray at his head (you have to be fast for this one) or b) circle-strafe around him and spray at his stomach/chest. Also, crouching may or may not be a good idea- although it reduces recoil alot of times it can put your head right in your enemies crosshairs.

-use flashbangs liberally, (especially before a rush) just be mindful of your teammates  Your enemy will probably use a flashbang before he rushes, so if he throws one at you you know whats coming.

-The best defence against flashbangs is to get behind cover. If your next to a flashbang and theres no cover to get behind, then look directly away from it (this will lessen its effect on you).

-buy armor every round.

-if your running low on cash, the desert-eagle is a cheap but effective weapon in the right hands.

-remeber that its only a game. Don't get worked up or frusterated if your losing, everyone gets better with a little practice.

-and last but not least, remember to have fun :)

If at first you don't succeed, shout 'H4xx' and join another server. :E
