help me plz I can't play CS:S or HL2 deathmatch

I notice that there is only 7 servers with people on CS:S and the same thing for HL2 deathmatch. The rest of the servers are empty. I try to click on the servers with that arn't full but I can't join them...only a pop up box with the servers info shows up and even when I try to connect from that it still does nothing. The main problem is seeing so many empty servers.

*EDIT* Im only getting 80 servers coming up for CS:S.

Check your filters. Turn them all off.

A firewall might be blocking the serverbrowser as well. If you have a firewall, disable it ..

when the pop up box of info comes up, try clicking "join game" make sure the latency in the info box hasnt jumped to 1000 something, it happens to me once ina while.

That always happens to me, I click join game and latency jumps to like 2000, and I have to wait after like 1 minute after I click to join, I have no firewalls, what is wrong?
