also im having problems with my game being offline ready i did everthing i suposed to do still i cant play it offline the in the properties thing for hl2 it says amount aquired: 99% and offline mode: not ready heres the pic i did not edit this at all and yes i used codes because i wanted a screen shot of the magnum it looks cool for alyx :cheers: btw i had to cut the image so it would fit the limit for the file size but still its real!!

EDIT: im also having problems with the gameplay. when going into a room it pausesand then resumes. it pauses like for a split second and then fine. it gets really annoying always jittering it never did it before until i reinstalled it.

Ok you need to verify that your Half-Life 2 cache files are ok. These are the files that contain all the game information, textures, models etc.

If these get corrupt you're likely to get problems like that.

All you need to do is go online > open Steam > and then type this into your Internet Explorer address bar: steam://validate/220. What will happen is it will check all of your HL2 cache files and if it finds any errors in them it will download the files that are wrong. It should also download that final 1% you seem to be missing for Offline mode

The whole process will take about 15 minutes.

That happens if you have previously installed a Half-Life 2 font. You need to get rid of it.

whats the file name? i tried eraseing all hl2 files that are on my computer i think i got them all then i installed it and thats why im here with that picture. my main problems are the offline mode thing and the stuttering. the stuttering is wierd because it never happened before. i played the whole game and beat it with no probs even with aa and af on. but when i got my new windows xp sp2 (maybe the prob??) it started the stuttering and the offline mode thing and the pinkish magnum. whichs look oddly cool :thumbs:

tried it and it didnt download that missing 1% i still cant playit offline. steam is starting to piss me off :flame:

OFFLINE MODE!!!!!!!!! it works now i let steam sit in my system tray and after a hour its 100% ready.
