help me please!! every time i try to play CS:S or DoD:S i get the error message:

Engine Error: Renderer out of memory, message code 212

and

The insrtuctions at "0x0f933e2c" referenced memory at "0x0d73a1a0". the memory could not be "read".

but when i run HL2 it works with no problem.

i went to the steam site and done everything there, i freed up ram and everything. please help!!

Did you play HL2 or just let it run?

In my experience, if any Steam game crashes, they all crash.

Keep playing to see if you get more, different messages.

Oh, and for the love of Gawd, post your system specs especially your video card.

i played and it ran fine.

oh sorry

Pentium (R) D CPU 3.00GHz

Alright i have that memory test going. should i have left it going with checking unused ram?

anyways here are my specs.

Video
Nvidia Geforce 6800 256mb

Sound
SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio

1 gig Ram

Dell XPSGEN5
XP Home Edition SP2
Intel Pentium D Cpu 3.00GHz

also i was looking for my drivers, and i know my video drivers are up to date, but i dont know how to find my ram drivers or anything else.

thanks

RAM "drivers" are handled by your OS.

If your memory test didn't find anything there could be an issue with your video card, but since HL2 is not apparently affected the only logical course is you have faulty files somewhere in CS:S and DOD:S.

Do the thing that verifies your file integrity unless someone can come up with something.

Did this problem just happen randomly after you have been playing for an amount of time or are these fairly new installs? How old is your hardware?
Did you make any major or minor software or hardware changes before this error occurred?
