Help: missing vgui material.

when I start HL2 up, when the menu appears, the background stays blurry, and the console autoamtically pops up, with the following message:

--- Missing Vgui material vgui/steam/games/icon_hl2mp
--- Missing Vgui material vgui/servers/icon_secure_deny

Also, the Valve logo doesn't appear, even though the sound for it plays. This hasn't stopped me playing games, but it's annoying, so can someone help me please?

Those images are missing on my computer, too. Its been that way for a pretty long time...

not to sure how to fix it!
But the valve video works on my pc, but the 3D backround never loads!
Iam not compaining because mine takes half the time to load, HL2

I get that to but I haven't gotten a crash message saying it so I don't give a damn.

Everyone gets those errors. Had them since the release of HL2.
