*help* modeling program

ok im getting in to modeling as well as mapping, i was just wondering if there would b a free modeling program that i could use to help create mods if there is can u put a link please and thanks :bonce:

You can use XSI exp for hl2, it's the program that valve used to create hl2, you can download for free.

But next time search before making a thread, cause this question has been asked a lot.

ok so i got the program and i am tryin to get the valve thing so i can get more stuff but it just comes up with an error evertime i try to load it, ne 1 got ne suggestions?

Unfortunatly I don't know anything about modeling and have only used the program once so I can't help you. But anyway if you want someone else to help you, you should describe the problem more specifically. Anyways good luck.

ok, um when i go to dl the mod tool add on for valve source, then after it is done dling it comes up with an error saying that it cannot open it up for some reason, i dont know if i got the right xsi i think i got the beta, can u tell me what is wrong or how to get the right version because i have sdk, thanks

go to File menu --> Add on --> Install

from there select your addon file that you downloaded and you should be good to go.

ok there isnt an add on i can install there so i think i have it ne way, this is what it says at the top of what xsi program im using.... softimage|XSI v4.2 mod tool project: XSI samples, is that the one i should be using?
